Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder Dupe?!

Probably the most well-known makeup setting powder would have to be the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. This product is hyped up all over the internet with many Youtube beauty fanatics claiming it is their holy grail powder they can't live without!
I had to try it out for myself as I have always had trouble finding a powder that didn't change the colour of my fair skin, that also kept my t-zone from getting oily. I was hesitant at first because of the hefty price tag (C$47.00 for 1oz) but just wanted a product that worked!
I have to say this powder is definitely all it is hyped up to be and is definitely a go to but I had to wonder to myself, is there a dupe out there for this powder? With much research, I came across a powder called Coty Airspun Translucent Extra Coverage Loose Face Powder.
This powder can be found at Walmart in the US, or can be ordered online as well. It retails for $5.97USD for 2.3oz of product and also has a face puff included for application. Over double the amount of the Laura Mercier for a fraction of the price! At this amount I had to try it whether it was as good or not.
I found that both powders had the same velvety soft texture and were both very finely milled. The Coty Airspun was just a tiny bit darker in colour. It also has a fairly strong and overwhelming powder perfume scent where the Laura Marcier has virtually no scent, but I found the scent went away after some wear time.
They both come in a round jar with a twist off lid, and a sifter to control how much powder comes out to prevent product waste. When applied, I noticed that the Coty Airspun also came off a tiny bit darker on my face, but still gave my skin the same flawless texture and appearance of the Laura Mercier powder.
All in all, I would say they are both amazing products and are both worth the money, but if you are on a budget I would definitely try out the Coty Airspun powder!!
